Nia Tero's 2022 Annual Report

In 2022, Nia Tero celebrated its fifth year of working in solidarity with Indigenous Peoples who sustain territories and cultures through their guardianship of Earth and all beings. From the beginning, Nia Tero has moved forward in the belief and the practice that trusting relationships are critical to our future, and are therefore the foundation of all our work. Our cornerstone is supporting Indigenous Peoples around the world who are collectively working to build a sustainable future for all.

At Nia Tero, we deeply respect and honor the diverse interpretations and expressions of Indigenous Peoples’ relationship with place. These relationships encompass their inherent right to self-determination and safeguarding their collective territories as well as the diversity of peoples, cultures, languages, and practices intertwined with the wellbeing of lands, waters, and thriving places over generations past, present, and future.

As you read the 2022 annual report, we hope you will see the profound importance of these relationships threaded throughout every aspect of our work. We acknowledge, in gratitude, that it is only through collaboration and shared commitment that we can make a meaningful difference. Thank you for being part of our collective effort!
