Beyond GDP in Practice: Wealth Accounts for Sustainability, Competitiveness and Climate

The United Nations has called for a move “Beyond GDP” to better measure progress, sustainability, and well-being. In response, the Secretary General organized a High-Level Expert Group (HLEG) to identify a small number of core indicators that are universally applicable, country-owned and policy-relevant.

This Yale-hosted Climate Week NYC event will feature Paul Roughan (Solomon Isalnds), Nia Tero's Pasifik Strategy Lead, as part of its panel. 

The event responds to the Beyond GDP goal, especially with respect to the measurement of wealth and its change over time. The event is designed to connect science with policy design and decision-making.  This panel will be an opportunity to discuss the importance of Beyond GDP, opportunities and pathways forward.
