Our Five-Year Strategy

Accelerating the field of Indigenous Peoples' guardianship

i

In 2025, we launched our five-year strategy with three ambitious goals:

  1. Deepen and expand partnerships to support half a billion hectares of Indigenous Peoples' guardianship
  2. Bridge the fields of conservation, development, philanthropy and social justice to influence decision making and activate Indigenous Peoples' guardianship
  3. Be the organization that reflects the change we seek in the world

Nia Tero partners with Indigenous organizations and the trusted allies of 274 distinct Indigenous Peoples worldwide.

Through our partnerships, we provide direct funding via grants and contracts to Indigenous Peoples' organizations and networks, while actively increasing the recognition of Indigenous Peoples' vital role in maintaining a healthy planet.
