This year, Nia Tero has launched "Beyond Fragmentation: Advancing Coherence, Equity, and Indigenous Leadership Across the Rio Conventions," authored by Minnie Degawan (Kankanaey-Igorot, Philippines).
The report highlights how Indigenous Peoples have engaged for decades in global efforts to address climate change, biodiversity loss, and land degradation. Yet their participation in the U.N. conventions dedicated to these issues has not yet translated into meaningful influence. This report examines how fragmentation across the Rio Conventions has impacted Indigenous Peoples’ participation. It offers insights for strengthening coherence, significant engagement, and Indigenous leadership in shaping environmental outcomes.

Event interpretation available in English, Spanish, Mongolia, French and Portuguese.
