Pacific Northwest Art Fellow - Lehuauakea (Kanaka Maoli)

The Nia Tero Pacific Northwest Arts Fellowship uplifts the work and personal stories of the remarkable Indigenous artists who live and work in the vibrant arts scenes surrounding Nia Tero's backyard.

Diverse voices from many Indigenous territories around the world, these remarkable artists represent the resilience, power, and beauty of the Native experience.

This short film features Lehuauakea (Kanaka Maoli), a Native Hawaiian kapa maker and artist from Pāpa‘ikou, ma ka Moku O Keawe, the Big Island of Hawaiʻi, and the powerful feeling that comes from reconnecting and rediscovering their culture.
